We’ve arrived at a name for our Online Media brainchild: Sick Clicks.

Our blog in all its newborn glory is Sick Clicks at WordPress.

On the blog, we’re including an interactive ‘Click the Symptom’ feature to humorously emphasise how easy it is to misdiagnose symptoms online. We want to stay abreast of the movement towards visual online media, which is highly effective in communicating information.

My quick mock-up of the interactive feature. Click a part of the body and a cloud of symptoms will appear.

Aside from the sidebar widgets, we’ll integrate social media shareability with the interactive feature to allow users to generate their own diagnosis and share it. We want to get the most out of the “culture creator” trend (Deuze 2007) and the creative Web 2.0 empowerment of users (Hjorth and Hinton, 2013).
